Available in this release are variations of PC-DMIS designed to assist with every aspect of the fabrication and quality control process. The newly created packages include PC-DMIS Laser, PC-DMIS Vision, PC-DMIS NC, as well as the established PC-DMIS Pro, PC-DMIS CAD, and PC-DMIS CAD++ platforms.
Also included with this release is PC-DMIS ONE, a simplified shop-floor DCC inspection package developed in cooperation with Brown & Sharpe.

Depending on your specific needs, the recommended system specifications for this version of PC-DMIS may be much higher. Established since version 3.5, this variation of PC-DMIS provides a simplified user interface designed for basic inspection but contains many available options for somewhat complex measuring needs.
Established since version 3.5, this variation of PC-DMIS is designed for working with imported CAD models to increase the ease of creating inspection programs as well as analyzing complex geometries.
Established since version 3.5, this variation is the most comprehensive version of PC-DMIS, containing the functionality of PC-DMIS CAD and Pro, along with Gear and Blade measuring package options.
PC-DMIS can be used in combination with supported laser probes to measure features on a part or to collect data. Laser probes allow you to easily and rapidly collect millions of points of data (called clouds of points). These clouds of points are then used within PC-DMIS for surface contour maps, export to reverse engineering packages, and creation of constructed features.
A true measuring package available for use on a computer controlled machining center for initial layout and setup inspections, first piece inspection, and even final inspection of machined parts.
A cornerstone of the Enterprise Metrology Solutions suite, the PC-DMIS Planner is an evolutionary step towards bottom line time savings for inspection.
PC-DMIS Planner is integrated directly within the CAD system to allow the CAD engineer to create a definition of features to inspect, datums to use, and the proper GD&T to apply. This electronic inspection plan can then be used throughout the entire inspection process making it a truly paperless task.

User Interface
Distance to Vector - The Probe Readouts window now has the ability to show the distance from the probe's center to the closest point on a feature's vector.
Export and Import
Generic Parser Nominals Update - The Generic Parser now shows any updated nominals at the end of an import process.
Measured Features
Update Nominals from CAD - Two menu options let you update the nominals of measured features based on an imported CAD file.
Auto Features
Gage Scan Filter - The Use Gage Scan Filter check box on the Circle Analog Scan measurement strategy filters measured data by comparing it to similar scan data from a gage.
Constructed Features
Improved Pierce Point Calculation - When one of the inputs is a plane type feature, PC-DMIS considers it as the pierced surface and the other feature as the piercing feature, regardless the order.
Hardware Support and Hardware Settings
New Scan Radius Deviation - A new Calibrate ScanRDV option has been added to the Type of Operation area in the Measure dialog box used when calibrating probes. This option gives you a newer and easier method of using a scan-specific radius deviation.
DCC Hits to Locate Calibration Tool - The YES/NO message box has been replaced for supported machine types and probe configurations to let you use DCC hits to locate a calibration sphere that has been only slightly moved from its previous position.
Reporting
Ignore Skipped Feature Rule - A new registry entry, IgnoreSkippedFeatureRule, controls whether or not features or dimensions appear in the report as pure text-only commands when skipped in unattended mode, or if they should continue to use their usual defined labels.
Quicker Report Generation - Two new check boxes in the General tab of the Setup Options dialog box, Update Report During Execution and Update Summary Mode During Execution, allow you to control whether or not updates are made during execution. This helps speed up part program generation in some situations.
Drag and Drop Floating Labels - In the Custom Report Editor, you can now press the ALT key when dragging and dropping information from the Edit window's Summary Mode. This creates a new label that floats on top of the existing label.

Occasionally files for supported machine interfaces are changed or added outside of the normal PC-DMIS version release parameters. Follow this link to download any updated or new interface files this version of PC-DMIS.
To install an interface file:
Follow the link above and download the .dll file to a directory of your choice.
Rename the DLL file to interfac.dll.
Place interfac.dll file into the directory where you installed PC-DMIS.
Sometimes user interface files (resource files) are updated outside of the normal release. Most of the time this will only happen for supported non-English language installs.
