fix for PC-DMIS Help FIle Crash Available

Installing Microsoft Corporation's latest Internet browser, Internet Explorer® 7, will cause a crash in some PC-DMIS versions when you try to access the PC-DMIS help file by pressing F1 or selecting Help | Index within PC-DMIS.

PC-DMIS Versions Affected:

Any version prior to 4.2 that uses a compiled HTML Help file (a help file with a .chm filename extension) is affected. Older versions that use the older help format (.hlp filename extension) are not affected.

Solution Instructions:

  1. If you haven't already done so, close down PC-DMIS.

  2. Inside Windows, navigate to the directory where you have PC-DMIS installed.

  3. Find and delete the file named PSAPI.DLL.

  1. Restart PC-DMIS and use the help file as usual.
