Global Update (added 23 January 2002). See Screenshot.

This free utility allows you to easily change all YES / NO settings globally throughout your entire part program. PC-DMIS must be running to make any changes.

To use this utility, download GlobalUpdateInstall.zip, and extract its contents to a directory of your choice. See the enclosed Readme.txt for documentation and installation information.

Register OCX (Added 26 Oct 2009). See Screenshot.

This batch file registers the reporting ActiveX files used in PC-DMIS 4.x and higher (files with a .ocx extension). If you get an "Unsupported Scripting Operation" error you may need to re-register your .ocx files. While you can certainly do this manually using a Command Prompt window, this batch file will help you to quickly and easily re-register those files.

To use this batch file, download register_ocx.zip, and extract its contents to a directory of your choice. Open the .bat file inside of a text editor (such as Notepad) and modify the "pcdpath" pathway variable to point to the version of PC-DMIS on your computer system that needs to have its OCX files registered. Save the file and then double-click on the .bat file to run it.

Sleep (Added 17 Nov 2009). See Screenshot.

The Sleep utility (previously named "Pause in Program") pauses execution of a part program for the specified number of seconds while a countdown timer displays on the screen. When the timer reaches zero, execution resumes.

To use this utility, download Sleep.zip, and extract its contents to a directory of your choice. Open your part program and add an External Command (Insert | External Command). Specify the location for Sleep.exe. Next, set the options to "No Display" and "Wait". Once the command is inserted into the part program, after the ".exe" portion of the pathway, insert a space and then type a forward slash followed by the number of seconds by which to pause the part program. So, if you want to pause your program by 20 seconds, it would looks something like this in the Edit window's Command mode:

EXTERNALCOMMAND/NO_DISPLAY, WAIT ; D:\TEMP\SLEEP\SLEEP.EXE /20

Note: This program was written in German. If a message box appears containing German text, it means it cannot find the timer control. This usually means you have not added the the parameter specifying the number of seconds by which to pause execution.
